Reviews need dated examples. Kudos is how you get them without a form.
Team at $29 stores 365 days of kudos for 50 people and writes a monthly recap the manager can paste. It will not score anyone out of 5.
Performance tools want ratings. Recognition bots want volume. The gap in a 40-person remote or hybrid company is smaller: you need examples with dates when you sit down to write. Searching Slack for emoji reactions is not a system.
What the AI recap is
On Team, once a month, each person who received at least one kudos gets a summary of at most 2,000 characters. Business raises the cap to 4,000. The summary quotes 3 to 5 notes with dates. It names the values tags if you use them. It does not invent "leadership potential," "culture fit," or a score.
If someone received nothing that month, there is no recap. Empty is honest. Inventing praise is not.
The manager can paste the recap into a review form, edit it, or ignore it. It is a draft from real notes, not a rating.
What the AI recap is not
Not a 360. Peers who never wrote a kudos are silent in the recap.
Not a popularity contest. The monthly leaderboard is a separate channel post. Do not paste the leaderboard into a review. The 52-week pack says the same.
Not a PIP tool. Public kudos is the wrong place for performance problems. Keep those in a 1:1.
Not bilingual magic. Majority language wins. See the Teams guide.
How to use 12 months of recaps
- Open the 12 monthly files for the person.
- Pull 3 quotes you would defend in a calibration meeting.
- Ignore months with one "thanks for the help" note.
- Empty months mean look at tickets, docs, and incidents, not invent praise.
Team keeps 365 days of history. Free keeps 90. If your review cycle is annual, Team is the plan that still has January when you write in December.
Price against the blank page
Team is from $29 a month for 50 people. Bonusly Team without Bizy is $3 per user and their FAQ says billed annually; with Bizy it is $5. See Kudos Rally vs Bonusly. We do not claim the recap raises ratings. We claim it replaces a blank Slack search.
